The taiga biome is the second biome that circles the north pole and it lies just south of the tundra biome. How can you tell the difference between the two biomes. Sometime its hard to find the fine line between the two biomes, but the temperature of the taiga is usually warmer than the temperature of the tundra. The taiga ecosystem is usually warmer and wetter than the tundra because of its latitude, but the climate is still pretty much the same. The weather in the are is still harsh, with long extreme winters and short mild summers. The taiga gets a relatively high amount of precipitation every year. In the winter it falls down as snow and in the summer it falls down as rain. The annual amount of precipitation is 10-30 inches.
